Position Summary
The Claims Associate supports daily claims administration and provides interim front desk/reception coverage. This role is well-suited to someone who is customer-service focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities.
Primary Responsibilities
Claims Support
· Assists with claims administration, including setting up claim files, supporting assignment workflows, tracking timeliness, and completing other claims-related tasks as assigned.
· Scans, indexes, and routes claims documents and correspondence; prepares and mails claims-related letters and materials as needed.
· Answers claim-related calls, providing basic information within guidelines, and routes/escalates as appropriate.
· Serves as business line liaison support between claims and accounting teams (ie. claim data needs, questions, etc.).
· Supports annual independent audit, periodic regulator examinations and data calls.
Reception / Front Desk
· Operates a multi-line phone system; greets callers/visitors and directs to the appropriate department.
· Processes incoming and outgoing mail (open/sort/distribute; prepares outgoing mail).
· Supports electronic payments and basic payment inquiries per established procedures.
· Inventories and coordinates ordering of office supplies.
Additional Administrative Support
· Provides scanning, filing, and general administrative support across departments as assigned, with a willingness to learn.
· Assists with policy/underwriting or accounting-related requests as needed (e.g., routing calls, processing mail, scanning documents), following established procedures and escalation rules.
Requirements
Required
· High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
· 3+ years of related office/administrative experience.
· Strong customer service and communication skills; professional phone presence.
· Accurate typing/data entry; strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Proficiency with Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel).
· Dependable attendance and work history
Preferred
· Claims clerical support experience and/or insurance office experience.
