Monica Miller Collison has been chosen to lead one of Oklahoma’s longest tenured domestic insurance companies. Collison was recently named President and Chief Executive Officer for Union Mutual Insurance Company and will be based at their corporate headquarters, located in Oklahoma City, OK. Union Mutual specializes in providing actual cash value insurance products covering homeowners, farm owners, dwelling fire, mobile homes, tenant dwellings, seasonal homes, rural property, lake property, farm liability and barnominiums.
Collison formerly served as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Affiliated Insurance Companies from 2009 to 2017.
Collison says “I am extremely humbled and excited about the opportunity to lead a company that has provided insurance protection for Oklahomans across all 77 counties in this state for over 80 years. Union Mutual’s mission of ‘Protection for Oklahomans by Oklahomans’ resonates with me both personally and professionally, as I am a life-long Oklahoman from a rural region in our great state.”
Interim CEO of Union Mutual, Ryan Leonard, of the law firm of Edinger, Leonard & Blakley PLLC, said Collison brings years of leadership, management and insurance expertise to the company.
“Monica is a natural fit for Union Mutual,” Leonard said. “She will be working with staff, agents and consumers on a daily basis. Her knowledge of the insurance industry and the state of Oklahoma from border to border will serve the company well moving forward as Union increases its market share throughout the state.”
“While I have enjoyed my time creating and growing my own businesses, I am most fulfilled when leading teams to new heights and achievements combined with the production of profitable, measurable results. I am ready to build upon the established traditions of an Oklahoma tried and tenured company and look forward to leading Union Mutual Insurance Company’s team and organization into the future,” Collison said.
Monica began her position as President and CEO earlier this week.
